Not only do the Massachusetts Bays sit beside the homes of nearly two million people, they are themselves home to unique communities of plants and animals - crabs, clams, osprey, eelgrass, seals - that live at the edge of the sea. These organisms depend on clean water and abundant habitat to thrive.
Sadly, unplanned development, polluted stormwater runoff, loss of critical habitat, and municipal and industrial discharges threaten this unique estuarine ecosystem stretching from Salisbury to Provincetown.
Learn about MBEA's innovative programs to address these threats.
